DOC-GEN
Deep Ocean Current Generator
Hydrodynamic technology designed to generate clean power 24/7
The Deep Ocean Current Generator
Designed to convert the kinetic energy of slow moving sea water into electricity by rotating a water turbine mounted on the deck.
- Each turbine drives a hydraulic pump to provide pressure to drive hydraulic motors, which in turn drive the generator in the pressurised generator capsule.
The generated power is conditioned within the electrical control cabinet and sent out as either AC or DC to a land based substation via a submarine power cable, and into the consumer power grid.
Mitigating carbon emissions through water energy
The promise of hydropower
Hydrodynamic technology designed to generate clean power 24/7
Repurpose equipment that would normally be scrapped
Deep ocean current generators don’t take up valuable farm land or disrupt river flora and forna
Deep ocean currents are often close to high population areas
Deep ocean current generators act as artificial reefs providing nurseries for many fish species
About Our Journey
The Docgen platform is the creation of the parent company 4Rivers Power Engineering Pty Ltd, originally based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia
Concept Criteria
• The energy source must historically be part of our planet for millions of years.
• It had to be sufficiently powerful to potentially generate GigaWatts of power at a minimum
• It had to lend itself to power generation without any polluting byproducts
• Repurpose equipment that would normally be scrapped
